An Apprenticeship Levy-funded programme is a government-funded apprenticeship. On completion, you’ll receive the Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship Qualification or Level 5 Operations Manager Qualification.
An Enterprise programme is commercially funded by your employer. On completion, you’ll receive a Future Talent Learning Transformational Manager Programme Level 3 or Level 5 certificate.
Select ‘Yes’ if the education or training provider you’re completing the course with describes it as full time. If you attend a full time course on a part time basis, this is still considered to be full time.
Select ‘No’ if the education or training provider you’re completing the course with describes it as part time.
In your enrolment form, you will complete the Learning Style Check. This is a cognitive assessment tool designed to help us understand how you learn best, and to determine if you would benefit from additional support or adjustments to succeed on the programme. This is not a test or a diagnostic tool, and there is no pass or fail. It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
You’ll engage with a series of games covering reasoning, memory, perception, problem-solving, and verbal skills. Some will be self-paced, others timed.
If your Learning Style Check indicates that you would benefit from additional support, your coach or one of our Learning Support Leads will discuss this with you.
Have a question about the Learning Style Check? Our team is here to help, contact our Learning Support Team: send@futuretalentlearning.com
I’m not sure how to answer the question ‘Have you previously undertaken any government funded training’.
Government funded training can take many forms, including:
• Another apprenticeship in any subject area
• Any study funded by a student loan or student finance
If you have part-completed or fully completed a previous apprenticeship at any time answer 'Yes' to this question.
If you have had any training that involved government assistance (even if this assistance is being/has been repaid), answer ‘Yes’ to this question.
Undertaking an apprenticeship requires dedication. If you’re already studying on another course, or plan to do so whilst on the TMP, you may find it challenging to balance both activities. We want to ensure that you’ve carefully considered your capacity before enrolling in order to thrive on the programme.

Your Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours Assessment is a form which involves you assessing yourself to identify your current level of knowledge and understanding linked to key areas of the programme. Your coach will discuss (moderate) the scores with your and your Line Manager to asses programme eligibility. Once moderated, the outcomes will enable your coach to adapt your programme of study to support you and your individual development needs.
The Initial Assessments are a required component set by the Department for Education (DfE) which all learners need to complete. Initial Assessment evaluate your current working level of English and maths. Please don’t rush your answers; this will ensure an accurate assessment outcome.
It’s important for you to complete these Initial Assessments as they will help your coach to determine if you require any further support with your learning journey.
Level 2 is the English and maths level required for the programme. You can also join the programme if you score level 1, as we have embedded additional English and maths support in our programme.
If you score Entry Level, then you can have a second attempt. If you score Entry Level on your second attempt, you will need to discuss your eligibility to the programme with your enrolment coach. Level 1 and level 2 scores in the English and maths Initial Assessments are entry requirements for our programme.
You have a learning support need – is there any flexibility in the Initial Assessment entry requirement?
Flexibilities are offered on a case-by-case basis for learners who have a learning support need. This flexibility could allow you to join the programme if they scored Entry Level in their Initial Assessments. During your enrolment meetings, your coach will provide further information on how learners are assessed to qualify for this flexibility.
What happens if I score below Level 1 in my initial assessments in either maths or English at the application stage?
Sadly, individuals who score Entry Level (i.e. below Level 1) will find it too much of a challenge to complete the programme. In this case, we recommend you visit one of the sites below where you can find English and maths Functional Skills support to help you to gain confidence in operating at a Level 1 standard or higher (some are free).
Once you are confidently operating at a Level 1 standard, you are welcome to re-apply for the programme. Often it takes just a few months to move from Entry Level 3 to a Level 1 standard of competency.
No, you do not need to provide evidence of your GCSE grades to join the programme. However, you will be asked on your enrolment form if you have achieved GCSEs (grades A* - C), A-levels or equivalent, or higher qualifications in English and / or maths. If you haven’t achieved these qualifications, you will have the option to take Functional Skills Training in English and/or maths, (with your employer's agreement).
Note - If you already hold GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, you aren’t eligible to receive funding for Functional Skills, as the government doesn’t provide funding for qualifications that have already been achieved.
Functional Skills are nationally recognised qualifications. If you pass level 2 Functional Skills in English or maths then you will hold a qualification comparable to GCSE grade 4 or grade C.
To start a Functional Skills qualification, during the enrolment meeting, you and your line manager need to agree that you can opt in. Your coach will book a Functional Skills Welcome Meeting for you with our Functional Skills Lead by week 4 of the programme. During this meeting, we will discuss your next steps for Functional Skills, explain how to access Functional Skills content, book optional tutoring sessions and explain the final exams. Functional Skills learning components will also be added to your learning plan. Our maths Functional Skills programme is 6 months long and has 1 final exam and our English Functional Skills programme is 4 months long and has 2 final exams and 1 final assessment.
Functional Skills are nationally recognised qualifications, accepted by many employers and education providers as an alternative to GCSEs, so don’t lose your certificates!
During your Enrolment Meeting with your Enrolment Coach, they will:
• Discuss your prior learning
• Talk about additional learning support (ALS)
• Explain the programme structure
• Make recommendations on planning your time to ensure you complete your learning within your working hours
• Ensure you fulfil the Levy-funding requirements (if applicable).
• Show you how to use your Learner Management System (Aptem) and the Events Hub
• Answer any questions you may have
If your weekly contracted hours are 30 or more, the minimum time commitment is 6.5 hours per week.
If your weekly contracted hours are fewer than 30, you must dedicate a minimum of 20% of your contracted working hours to learning while you’re on the programme. Your coach will calculate your off-the-job-training hours and extend your programme duration on a pro-rata basis during your enrolment.
